Remove latex paint stains from clothes with common household supplies.
Painting your home with a fresh coat of latex paint often will result in messy accidents. If you've accidentally splashed latex paint onto your clothes, then you will need to remove the paint stain immediately. Latex, a water-based paint, needs to be removed as soon as possible to prevent permanently staining your clothing. You can save money by removing the stain yourself with common household items.
Instructions
1. Use a butter knife or putty knife to scrape away the dried latex paint.
2. Rinse the area with warm water.
3. Use a sponge to blot rubbing alcohol onto the latex paint stain. Use an old toothbrush to work the rubbing alcohol into the stain.
4. Allow the rubbing alcohol to set for 5 to 10 minutes. If the stain still exists, blot the area with more rubbing alcohol or a commercial stain remover.
5. Rinse the rubbing alcohol off with warm water. Launder the clothing by following the directions on the care label. Hang the clothing up to dry instead of placing it in the dryer.
