Get Another Vehicle'S Paint Off My Car

Clay bar

If you have been involved in an auto accident or are a victim of a hit and run, then your car may be marred by the paint of another vehicle. Auto detailers and auto body shops have the equipment necessary to remove the paint, but it may cost you a pretty penny. You can remove the paint yourself with a little elbow grease. The clay bar is an effective paint-removing tool that you can purchase in your neighborhood auto parts store, and it won't cost you a lot of money.

Instructions

1. Mold the clay bar in your hands until it becomes smooth, then roll it into a ball. Flatten the ball in your palm until it is about 1/2 inch thick.

2. Apply the clay bar lubricant that is sold along with the clay bar product to the affected area. Use a liberal amount of lubricant to ensure that the clay will glide smoothly over the area.

3. Rub the clay bar over the area of your car that has been marred by the paint from the other vehicle. It may take some time, but keep rubbing, gently, until you begin to see results.

4. Add more clay bar lubricant to the car if necessary. You will know that you need more if the clay bar does not slide easily along the car's surface. Continue rubbing and adding the lubricant until all of the foreign paint is removed.

5. Clean the area with a microfiber cloth to remove any leftover residue from the lubricant or removed paint.
